Atresmedia is Spanish media company owned by RTL Group. The company have nine television channels and three radio stations.

On November 30, 2005, with the launch of digital terrestrial television (TDT) in Spain, each analogue channel was awarded two new channels in addition to its own. Antena 3 Televisión, S.A. created three new channels: Neox dedicated to young audiences with series, Nova dedicated to the female audience with series and telenovelas then in 2010, Nitro dedicated to men with series and sports.

In 2012, Gestora de Inversiones Audiovisuales La Sexta merges with Grupo Antena 3.

On March 6, 2013, Grupo Antena 3 renamed Atresmedia.

On 18 December 2013, the Spanish Supreme Court orders the closing of nine channels of free digital television (Televisión Digital Terrestre or TDT), indicating that the licenses obtained for these channels have been awarded without competition. Three channels of the Atresmedia group are concerned by this decision: La Sexta 3, Nitro and Xplora.

In February 2014, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal initiated by the audiovisual groups, including Atresmedia, against the closure of these nine TDT channels: the court requires a new call for tenders for channel licenses. As a result, La Sexta 3, Nitro and Xplora cease broadcasting on May 6, 2014, the last mentioned continues to broadcast several hours a day on the internet for a month. The group is launching Mega, a new men's thematic channel, on July 1, 2015.

On June 1, 2014, Atreseries is launched for the international. It broadcasts many series of Atresmedia. On December 22, 2015, Atresmedia launched Atreseries in Spain, a new high-definition thematic channel that broadcasts series and films on Spanish TDT. It hosts a new logo that also arrives on the international version.
